16 Feb 2010 Inflation rises to 3.5%
According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) the Consumer Price Index rose to 3.5%, up from 2.9% in December. This is the biggest ever leap in inflation between these two months. The rise has partly been blamed on the increase in VAT from 15% to 17.5%
